baby MiquelaSaturday November 15, 2014.  5:19 am.  I am on the edge of my seat.  I have been up all night waiting with anticipation and excitement, pacing the night away.  I am holding my wife’s hand, and one of God’s most incredible miracles, nine plus months in the making, is on its way.

There is something incredible about the creation of a new human.  Growing from a single cell into a fully formed you or me is mind boggling.  Not just extremities and a heartbeat, but a soul and spirit.  An ability to fellowship with God, and a destiny.  How are we not absolutely floored by every person we see!  They started out as nothing, and turned into this incredible reflection of God himself, made in his image!

My newest daughter, Miquela Grace Robinson, 7lbs 3os, is a tremendous reminder that all of us are an unfathomably incredible miracle of God.  Each face I see is one of His creations, fearfully and wonderfully made.  Each student at this school is one of His, so precious, so full of His image.

When Miquela was born on Saturday morning, there was a moment when my breath left me, and tears welled in my eyes.  Time stopped for a moment, and I heard nothing.  I was in awe, and I was in love, with what God had made.  My prayer is that I would have that kind of love, that kind of pause and reverence, for each of God’s creations.  That each time I meet someone for the first time, I’d lose my breath in awe of what God has made, and love that person deeply.
